Last week, I completed my speaking and listening exam as the last part of my Functional Skills (Read more about Functional Skills here). It went really well and i passed!
Although it was a presentation, i knew the people attending so it felt like a meeting and that i was in control of what was being discussed. Both the formal and informal aspects went fine and it now means i’ve completed my Functional Skills for my Apprenticeship! I’ve nearly finished my Technical Certificate part of my Apprenticeship (just one unit) and then i’ve just got my competency based units to focus on, which will mean evidence statements, observations… basically proving i can do/know what i need to do to complete my Apprenticeship
Yesterday was an interesting day as i was out of the office with a colleague invigilating. If you didn’t know, an invigilator is the person in charge of overlooking an exam, making sure that no one cheats and everything is done correctly and in exam conditions. So i was one of them yesterday! It was fairly easy and mostly boring, but it was good to get out of the office, especially because you get to visit the places and see the people that you process paperwork for back in the office. The journey there and back was about an hour, and the tests ran for about 3 and half hours, so it meant that i finished work later than usual.
