Yesterday, i had my first tutor meeting in a while. Progress in my apprenticeship has been held up slightly as my company have recently moved office and i’ve had a change in tutor. Nevertheless, i feel that i’m back on track after a positive meeting. I have a task list to complete and a final tech cert exam scheduled.
So now i have something to get my teeth into, i can start working towards my completion date of end of April. It was suggested that the completion date was more likely to be May time, but i said i wanted to finish in April, as there’s a possibility i might be doing an OU degree (which starts in May) after my apprenticeship. Which should be good
What did i do in the tutor meeting? We discussed work i’d done, talked about progress and did a question and answer session, which is used as evidence to complete units of the apprenticeship. She said that i’m 75% through, and set me tasks such as writing evidence statements and collecting work products. All these are used to build up evidence of my competency and are there to prove to the verifier that i’ve completed the course. (The verifier is the person that checks the criteria have been met for completion – i know this because i work for a training provider that delivers apprenticeships!)
